Two former Premier League managers have been tipped as hot contenders for the Switzerland job next summer, according to Swiss outlet Infoticker.
Roberto Di Matteo and Christian Gross are understood to be on the list following news that Ottmar Hitzfeld will retire after next year's World Cup.
Switzerland secured automatic qualification for next year's tournament and the 64-year-old Hitzfeld will bring his career to an end after six years with the Alpine nation.
Di Matteo, meanwhile, has been out of work since being shown the door by Chelsea last year, while former Tottenham Hotspur boss Gross is also unemployed.

Gross ended his stay at Swiss side BSC Young Boys in April last year, and was most recently linked with the vacant post at Nurnberg.
Coincidentally, Austria coach Marcel Koller was also linked with the Nurnberg job, and he has been included in the contender list for Switzerland as well.
Former Bayern Munich boss Hitzfeld's guidance in the latest qualifiers helped Switzerland boost their FIFA rankings as well.
They broke the top-ten barrier for the first time since 1995, to sit seventh and ahead even of teams like Holland, England, Italy and Brazil.
The Swiss cruised through qualifying unbeaten and will be one of the seeded teams at Brazil 2014 according to their position in the rankings.
