PSV Eindhoven are growing increasingly frustrated at the apparent lack of real commitment from Ola Toivonen, despite verbal assurances of a contract extension.

According to the Brabants Dagblad, Toivonen and his agent Mino Raiola are yet to confirm either way what the player's response will be to an offer given nearly three weeks ago.

Toivonen, who rejected a move to Norwich City in the summer, had previously suggested he was happy to sign a contract extension.

The renewal was expected to happen after the last round of World Cup qualifiers, with Toivonen saying earlier this month: "The best thing for me right now looks to be signing the contract."

And PSV are hoping to hold him true to that, with their extension until the summer of 2015.

The Eredivisie club are also keen to add a clause that ensures a relatively small transfer fee should Toivonen seek alternate pastures at the end of that term.

Toivonen's current contract expires next summer, and PSV will be hoping the transfer-fee clause will at least help them get something out of a player they once threatened to relegate to the reserves.

The stand-off has been ceased, at least on the face of it, and Toivonen has already made 13 appearances for PSV, including two in the Europa League.
