Ola Toivonen's agent Mino Raiola is keeping every single option on the table when it comes to a renewal, insisting that a long-term contract extension is still a possibility.

Toivonen is yet to confirm the renewal even though PSV Eindhoven have put an offer on the table, with his current deal expiring next summer.

The Swede's refusal to seek an exit towards Norwich City – with PSV's blessing no less – earlier this summer did not go down well, but he is being given a way back into the good books.

Raiola is not willing to commit to anything on behalf of his client, and told Voetbal International: "PSV's proposal is fine.

"But everyone, including PSV, must realise that Ola has many considerations to make. Maybe he will want to extend his contract and continue for many years at PSV. That is also an option."

Toivonen has become a controversial figure, of sorts, at PSV with many believing he will see out his contract and earn himself a better salary at a new club thanks to the eventual free transfer that follows.

However, Raiola is working to clean up that image for Toivonen, adding: "Everyone says that Ola is heading towards a free transfer but, for now, that is still not the case.

"Indeed, even if he wanted to leave in the winter, he would still need PSV's cooperation. At the moment, everything is an option."
