AC Milan will not be putting coach Massimiliano Allegri's future on the line on Wednesday, despite the boss admitting going through "the most difficult time" of his tenure.

Milan have one win and three defeats in their last five Serie A games, and are in danger of exiting the Champions League after two draws and a win.

With Barcelona awaiting them in the Camp Nou on Wednesday, Allegri was forced to admit via Gazzetta dello Sport today: "This is the most difficult time in my three and a half years at Milan.

"My future? At this time I have to find a solution to the problems and somehow I will do it. The club will have to take its decisions."

However, Milan CEO and vice-president Adriano Galliani has reassured the boss that the Barcelona result will not be "decisive", but that all eventualities could be on the table.

"It's not a crucial week for our coach", Galliani said. "It's certainly a difficult time because results are not going our way.

"Every coach depends on results and if one loses a lot of games, then there's no way a coach can keep his position.

"However, we have confidence in our coach. We look ahead hoping things will improve. There are good and bad times and sport is cyclical. Hence we hope to do better in the remainder of the campaign."

Milan, who lost 2-0 to Fiorentina on Saturday, are currently 11th in Serie A, 10 points behind the last European berth.
