Anderlecht sporting director Herman Van Holsbeeck admits that the Belgian champions will be targeting players who are on the fringes of their current clubs in the January transfer window, while swinging open the door at once for Chelsea starlet Kevin De Bruyne.
Van Holsbeeck is determined to bolster Anderlecht's squad in the new year and, in conversation with former Belgium international and Het Laatste Nieuws consultant Marc Degryse, conceded to being very interested in players whose World Cup hopes may be at risk due to a lack of minutes on the pitch.
Names floated to Van Holsbeeck included Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen, who is being kept out of the Gunners defence by Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny, Tottenham winger Nacer Chadli and Chelsea midfielder De Bruyne.
All are Belgium internationals that the country's footballing community would like to see play on a regular basis with the 2014 World Cup on the horizon.

"We will look for players, domestic or foreign, in the winter break, who may miss the World Cup if they do not change club", said Van Holsbeeck in response.
"Regarding Kevin De Bruyne, he can come at once if he wants and given the situation, anything can happen."
De Bruyne has fallen onto the fringes of the Chelsea squad, despite a campaign in the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen last season which saw him shine.
The attacking midfielder has so far cut a confident figure over his chances of forcing his way into Jose Mourinho's plans, but admitted he may have to look at his situation in January if still denied a playing opportunity.
