Manchester United have confirmed that midfielder Michael Carrick is set to miss four to six weeks through injury.

Carrick recently withdrew from Roy Hodgson's England squad to face Chile and Germany along with club team-mate Danny Welbeck.

 


Carrick is suffering from an Achilles injury and Manchester United manager David Moyes will have to make do without the 32-year-old for a substantial period of time.

The club announced: "Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick will be out for four to six weeks with an Achilles injury, the club has confirmed."

The Red Devils will be hoping for a speedy return for the midfielder, especially with the busy festive period of fixtures approaching.

Carrick is now all but certain to miss matches against Cardiff (24th November), Bayer Leverkusen (27th November), Tottenham Hotspur (1st December) and Everton (4th December).
