Cristiano Ronaldo will not attend the presentation of the 2013 FIFA Ballon d'Or award in Zurich.

The FIFA gala will be held on 13th January and will see the world's governing body hand out a number of awards, including the coveted Ballon d'Or.

But Ronaldo, according to reports from Spain and Portugal, has decided not to attend the event, unhappy at the poor treatment he feels he has received from FIFA in recent months.

The profiles listed by FIFA when the Ballon d'Or list was announced have been deemed to be more favourable to Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery than Ronaldo.

And the Real Madrid star is also thought to still be upset by jokes made at his expense by FIFA president Sepp Blatter at a speech at Oxford University.

Blatter remarked that Ronaldo spends more than Lionel Messi on his hair and then imitated the Portuguese's movements with a military march.

Blatter did apologise for any offence, but unless a U-turn takes place on the part of the player, Ronaldo will not be at the Ballon d'Or ceremony early next year.
