Juventus are preparing a €10m bid to snatch Marc-Andre ter Stegen away from under Barcelona's noses, according to Tuttosport.

Ter Stegen, who is contracted with Borussia Monchengladbach until 2015, is being thought of as a successor to Gianluigi Buffon.

Buffon, aged 35, will see his Juventus contract run out in 2015, and the Old Lady could be tempted into buying young to help ease the transition.

The €10m may not be enough though, given that Barcelona were offering a similar transfer fee with Gladbach understood to value the 21-year-old Ter Stegen at €12m.

It is believed that Barcelona have put Ter Stegen on top of their list, but that they could end up buying two goalkeepers to replace the outgoing Victor Valdes.

And the uncertainty has seen Juventus prepare for talks with Gladbach, even though the Germans would ideally rather keep Ter Stegen at the club.

Both Gladbach coach and its sporting director have expressed hope that Ter Stegen will sign a contract renewal beyond 2015.

The player himself does not rule out an extension, despite Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta having spoken to his agent and family.

"The decision will arrive before June for sure", Ter Stegen had said earlier this month. "I will take my time to decide my future. I do not rule out renewing with Monchengladbach."
