Clubs hoping to secure John Guidetti's signature may have to pay Manchester City close to €5m as a winter transfer looks likely.

According to the Algemeen Dagblad, Guidetti is certain to leave the Citizens in the winter, this after the Swede insisted yesterday he was desperate for regular football.

Guidetti was being linked with moves to PSV Eindhoven and even Italian clubs early this year, after returning from a superb loan spell at Feyenoord.

His value will certainly have increased after last night as he scored two goals for Sweden's Under-21 side in their 5-0 European Championship qualifier win over Malta.

Guidetti had joined Manchester City's youth academy in 2007 and has since enjoyed further loan stints at Burnley and his boyhood club IF Brommapojkarna.

The 21-year-old has made just the one senior appearance for Manchester City and is keen for the winter period to prove himself again.

"I want to play football. Whether that will be at Manchester City or somewhere else, I do not yet know", Guidetti said.

"Currently I am training hard and fighting. January is the time to show what I can do."
