Paris Saint-Germain are poised to move for Chelsea attacking midfielder Juan Mata in the January transfer window, according to French broadcaster Eurosport.

Mata was linked with the Ligue 1 champions over the summer, with coach Laurent Blanc having asked his board to secure another creative option in the final third.

PSG had looked at signing Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid, but found Arsenal well-advanced in their move to take the Germany international to England.

Now the French champions are thinking of Mata, who has still not managed to fully establish himself under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.

Mata was an unused substitute in Chelsea's 3-0 win over West Ham on Saturday and PSG are lining up a €40m offer to tempt the Blues to part with the Spaniard.

There is also interest in Mata from Atletico Madrid and Juventus, however PSG have greater financial muscle than the duo, who would find matching a €40m bid from France difficult.

Mata is under contract at Chelsea until 2016.
