Luiz Gustavo has brushed off talk of a bid from Barcelona arriving in January by pledging his future to current club Wolfsburg.

The Brazilian defensive midfielder only joined the Wolves in the summer from Bayern Munich, costing the not too shabby sum of €20m.

However, Gustavo is believed to have a release clause inserted into his contract at the Volkswagen Arena which could smooth the path to a trouble-free switch to the Camp Nou in January.

The midfielder does not want to be drawn on the Barcelona chatter though, dubbing it "old news" and committing to Wolfsburg.

He told Kicker: "We have a great team and want to achieve something.

"I'm here and I have a long contract."

It remains to be seen whether Barcelona will seek to tempt Gustavo when the transfer window swings back open in January.
