The race for Barcelona full-back Martin Montoya is heating up with the player's agent due to hold talks with Inter Milan after speaking to Liverpool.

According to Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo, Montoya's agent Jose Maria Orobitg will speak to both the English and the Italian club as he plots the next step for his client.

Montoya's contract at Barcelona expires next summer, making him free to commit to another club on 1st January 2014, and the defender has been concerned at a lack of playing time.

Now a departure as soon as January could well be on the cards for Montoya, who is wanted at both Anfield and the San Siro.

The Spaniard is believed to favour a stay at the Camp Nou however, but his agent will collect as many options as possible to put in front of the right-back.

Montoya has made seven appearances in La Liga so far this season, while he has also turned out once for Gerardo Martino's men in the Champions League.
