Arturo Vidal's contract extension at Juventus could be just hours away after the midfielder revealed Tuesday would be an "important" day for him and the club's fans.

Vidal, linked with Real Madrid this year, was yesterday understood to be poised on a renewal which was expected to arrive by the end of the week.

However, the Chilean himself announced yesterday a big decision would come sooner than that.

Vidal wrote on his official Twitter account: "Tomorrow [Tuesday] will be a very important day of my life, I hope the Juventus fans are happy."

It is widely expected that the announcement will be regarding his renewal, given that his current contract expires in 2016.

Vidal has been at Juventus since 2011 and helped the club to back-to-back Serie A titles.

His Juventus team-mate Paul Pogba is yet to make a similar statement, but Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta has given encouraging signs.

"[Pogba] is in an ideal environment and there are no temptations on the horizon to take him away," Marotta said yesterday.
