Auxerre starlet Paul-Georges Ntep would love to say 'yes' to Arsenal in the winter but insists he will not move to England simply to end up on the bench.

Ntep's admission will have dealt blows to clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur, all credited with an interest.

PSG were even understood to have made enquiries with Auxerre over the France Under-21 international while Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have sent scouts to watch the €8m-rated talent.

However, the 21-year-old is closely observing Arsenal, given their history of recruiting youngsters especially from France, telling L'Equipe: "Arsenal is a club that appeals to any player.

"This is a club that relies on young people. After that, it's always the same question – it depends on the project. Arsenal, yes, but to do what?

"If this is a club where I am going to sit on the bench, then where is the progression? I'm not saying I want to go to a big club to start immediately but at least that can happen in the medium term."

Regardless, with so many teams monitoring his situation, the fact of a winter transfer is clearly on Ntep's mind.

"It is a [situation] I am currently thinking of," he added. "This is a decision that must be taken depending on the project presented, game time, and the style of the team.

"The question may arise this winter but it will be for the club, first, to consider. For me, the day I have an interesting sporting project, I will ask the question."
