Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu has wasted little time in denying that the club have made contact over signing Sergio Aguero from Manchester City.
The Spanish champions have lost their last two matches, against Ajax and Athletic Bilbao, and are now being tipped to enter the January transfer market to provide their squad with a boost.
Aguero has popped up as a potential purchase, but Bartomeu has played down that suggestion.
"As of today, there is no intention to sign any player in January", the Barcelona official was quoted as saying by Marca.

"There has been no contact with Kun Aguero", he added.
Barcelona are believed to be waiting for coach Gerardo Martino to decide whether reinforcements are needed for the new year.
