Martin Montoya's agent has played down talk of an imminent deal to take the defender away from Barcelona, claiming that there is no agreement with any interested party.

The right-back is wanted by Liverpool, Inter and Napoli, while AC Milan have also been mooted as suitors. At the crux of the matter for Montoya is a lack of playing time at Barcelona this term.

And with a contract which is due to expire next summer, the Spaniard is in a strong position to dictate his future.

But no club are as yet leading the race for Montoya, his agent Josep Maria Orobitg has explained, with talks also ongoing with Barcelona about a potential new contract.

"There is no news for any one club", he told Sky Italia.

"We are just in talks, but there is no agreement with anyone."

Montoya has been handed regular playing time by Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino of late, with 90-minute appearances clocked up against Espanyol, Real Betis, Granada, Athletic Bilbao and Celtic.
