Manchester United have been dealt a fresh blow in their attempts to sign Real Sociedad's Antoine Griezmann after the winger denied there was any possibility of an exit.

Griezmann himself had revealed early last month that the Red Devils were among a few English clubs on his trail.

The speculation had pointed towards a winter move for the man who impressed during a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford and then in a goalless draw in Spain, both in the Champions League.

However, Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay had already claimed the club "do not need the money" that could come from a potential sale.

And when asked about a transfer, the Frenchman himself was quoted by Spanish daily AS as saying: "No, I don't think so.

"There is nothing. I am focused on my game and on helping the team. There is nothing more.

"I just want to keep working and keep doing my job well here at Real. That's all I care about."

Griezmann, who could have an outside chance of making France's World Cup squad, is contracted at Real Sociedad until 2016.
