Ilkay Gundogan's father has confirmed interest from Real Madrid in his son, claiming the Spanish giants "want to negotiate".
A number of clubs are keeping a close watch on Gundogan's situation at Borussia Dortmund, including English champions Manchester United and Spanish La Liga holders Barcelona.

At the centre of the intrigue is the midfielder's contract, which is due to expire in the summer of 2015, meaning it will have just one year left to run in a little over six months' time.
Gundogan has made noises over discussing a renewal, but pen has not been put to paper. And Real Madrid are keen to make sure that does not happen, claims Irfan Gundogan.

"The interest from Madrid in my son is considerable", he told Spanish daily AS.
"They want to negotiate", Irfan Gundogan continued.
However, there will be no developments until the midfielder has recovered from a back injury, which has restricted him to just 56 Bundesliga minutes so far this season.
"Right now, we can do nothing until Ilkay has completely recovered from his back injury", added the player's father.
"We will enter into a discussion as soon as he is completely back on the pitch."
