Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has attempted to stamp on the growing transfer speculation surrounding midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

The Germany international has been linked with Manchester United, while Real Madrid are also suitors. And it is the latter club which have been at the centre of the most recent transfer chatter.

Gundogan's father, who also acts as his agent, has confirmed that Real Madrid are desperate to sign his son.

A move to Real Madrid is regarded as a definite possibility given that Gundogan's contract at Dortmund expires in the summer of 2015.

But Watzke has done his best to sound unconcerned and has insisted that no one from the player's camp has told Dortmund that he wants to leave.

"If we believe everything that has been in the Spanish media about people who are supposedly leaving us, we would have to worry about being able to put a team together", the CEO told Bild.

"We have not been told by Ilkay or his father that he wants to leave us."
