Juventus are pressing to break Barcelona and Arsenal hearts over Marc-Andre ter Stegen though Borussia Monchengladbach are yet to see an offer to their liking.

According to Bild, Gladbach are expecting €12m for their star goalkeeper, who is a firm favourite to become Victor Valdes' successor at Barcelona.

However, Juventus could be ready to spoil the party, with their number one Gianluigi Buffon at the tail end of his career.

The Old Lady had been pondering a €10m bid for Ter Stegen back in November, with the 21-year-old's contract expiring in 2015.

Gladbach have not seen any club come close to their valuation of the player, though Barcelona were believed to be considering €10m plus a host of add-ons.

It remains a tight race for Juventus as Barcelona have already staked out the player's background and met with his family and agent.

Ter Stegen is understood to be an Arsenal target as well, even as the Gunners keep an eye on Real Madrid stalwart Iker Casillas.

For now, Ter Stegen is expected to take a decision on whether or not to renew with Gladbach, after club coach Lucien Favre sounded a note of inevitability last week.

"Hopefully he can continue with us", Favre had said. "But when a team like Barcelona comes knocking we have to be realistic, whilst still maintaining hope."
