Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has a very good idea of where Marc-Andre ter Stegen is heading in the summer, and he suspects everyone else does as well.

Barcelona are deemed to be the most likely destination for Ter Stegen later this year, after the goalkeeper yesterday opted not to renew his Gladbach contract.

With Victor Valdes himself leaving Barcelona in the summer, names such as Thibaut Courtois and Pepe Reina were doing the rounds though the former is seemingly out of the picture.

As for Ter Stegen, Juventus were looking to topple Barcelona with a potential bid, which was first reported to be at €10m and then which rose to €12m.

There was some speculation of interest from Arsenal as well, but Eberl was quoted by Der Westen as saying: "We believe that it is the club that we all suspect.

"A goalkeeper with outstanding abilities is leaving us. That does not surprise us. A player with such capabilities is hunted. This is normal."

And Eberl, whose club are already linked with a few replacements, insists he will be able to help Gladbach find the right fit.

"We will find the right solution, as we did two years ago when we bought well", he added.
