Remy Cabella has sought to pour cold water on the raging transfer fires surrounding him by declaring his focus is squarely with Montpellier.

The creative midfield fulcrum has been linked with Manchester United at various points throughout the season, with the English champions mooted as preparing a €17m bid to steal him away from the Stade de la Mosson.

More recently it has been Newcastle making the running for Cabella and the French club's vice-president has admitted that he expects a bid from the Magpies to land very soon indeed.

That is not distracting Cabella though, who is staying focused on the task at hand at Montpellier, who are embroiled in a relegation battle in Ligue 1.

"After that, we do not know what can happen.

"But for now, in my head, I am 100 per cent Montpellier."

Montpellier, currently sitting 17th in Ligue 1, are counting on Cabella to help them scramble up the table and towards clear safety.
