He is believed to have already flown to London to put the finishing touches to his move, but it one which requires authorisation from Parma, which has at present been withheld.

According to Sky Italia, Parma are ready to sell their 50% of Belfodil to fellow Italian side Sassuolo for a fee of €3.5m.

However, the Algerian striker does not want to join Sassuolo, who are 18th in the 20-team Italian top flight.

Now a battle for Belfodil's future is raging, with Inter fully prepared for him to move on loan to West Ham, potentially with a view to a permanent switch at the end of the campaign.

Parma will need to adjust their stance for that to happen however.
