The race for Auxerre starlet Paul-Georges Ntep is heating up, with the French club's president revealing an offer has been received for the 21-year-old.

Ntep has no shortage of admirers, from English Premier League pair Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach and Italian giants Roma. His domestic fans range from Paris Saint-Germain to Monaco and Rennes to Lille.

And it is from within France that a concrete offer has arrived, one which may lead to the young striker upping sticks from Auxerre imminently.

"We have received a proposal from a major French club", Auxerre president Guy Cotret said to Yonne Republicane.

"There is no agreement at the moment, we are holding discussions, but there could be a result within 48 hours", he added.

Ntep has shone this term with Auxerre, being tipped for big things and regularly finding the back of the net in Ligue 2.

The striker is well aware he is a wanted man, but while dubbing interest from Arsenal and Roma "nice", has left his future firmly in Auxerre's hands, commenting: "Anyway, this is not my decision. They must address the president."

Now an unnamed club have done just that and will be hopeful of snapping up Ntep ahead of his many fans.

Ntep has bagged five goals in five games for France's Under-21s in their European Championship qualifying push this term, while he has found the back of the net on ten occasions for Auxerre in the current campaign.
