Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck has sung Shinji Kagawa's praises following the Japanese's performance in the side's 2-0 win over Swansea yesterday.

The Japanese playmaker was instrumental in his side’s much improved performance against the Swans at Old Trafford.

In spite of a relatively dull first half performance, the Red Devils came back strongly in the second half with Antonio Valencia opening the scoring while Welbeck added a second 12 minutes later.

A tactical change at the break saw Adnan Januzaj and Kagawa swap positions and once the Japanese moved inside to play the role of the traditional ‘number ten’ the game started to roll.

I thought Shinji was the difference in the second half”, Welbeck told the club’s official site.

Once we moved him to the middle he looked like he was at home and he really switched it on for us. He made a massive difference.”

The Japanese midfielder has struggled to produce the form he showed at Borussia Dortmund at Manchester United, but manager David Moyes is increasingly placing his faith in Kagawa.
