Liverpool and a host of Serie A clubs will be bracing for disappointment over Jeremy Menez after the winger revealed discussions about his contract renewal were ongoing.

Menez's current deal at Paris Saint-Germain will run out in the summer, and that has prompted plenty of talk about a return to Italy.

The 26-year-old, who spent three seasons at Roma, is followed by Inter Milan and Juventus, with the latter tipped to have reached an agreement as well in December.

Liverpool had been suitors last summer and are also interested this time, but Menez told Le Parisien: "In terms of my future in the capital beyond the summer, there are discussions with the club.
