Former Liverpool and Queens Park Rangers target Faouzi Ghoulam could soon be on his way to Roma with a loan offer imminent according to L'Equipe.

Saint-Etienne will be waiting for Roma's next move over their left-back, after last summer saw QPR and Torino battle for his services.

His value has no doubt grown this season as AC Milan are also understood to be eying the Algeria international.

The defender has overcome an early-season dip in form to make 16 Ligue 1 appearances for Saint-Etienne, and also managed a goal and three assists.

Roma coach Rudi Garcia is eager to reinforce the wings in his backline, but is expected to ask for the option to purchase Ghoulam as well.

The 22-year-old had been heavily linked with QPR last summer, when his agent had made a trip to London to hold talks with Harry Redknapp's side.

Even Liverpool were looking to snap up the former France youth international, which was tipped as the reason why Torino were being given the snub.

Ghoulam has been at Saint-Etienne all his professional career and is contracted with the club until 2016.
