Manchester City are attempting to take midfielder Blaise Matuidi to the Etihad Stadium in time for 2014/15.

The Paris Saint-Germain star sees his current contract at the Parc des Princes expire at the end of the season and so far has made no progress on signing an extension with the French champions.

Manchester City are bidding to take advantage of that situation and according to Canal +, have offered a contract with a €10m signing-on fee to the tough-tackling midfielder.

PSG are still hoping to keep the former Saint-Etienne man, but the Citizens are putting in a strong push to scupper that desire.
