Queens Park Rangers have reached an agreement to sign up Inter Milan striker Ishak Belfodil with a medical set for today.

According to Sky Italia, Belfodil is all set to complete a move to England today, a saga that previously saw West Ham come within inches of securing the Algerian.

The Hammers' efforts were scuppered by Parma's refusal to allow the sale of their stake in Belfodil.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp had, earlier this month, indicated his club chairman was working on the Belfodil deal.

The promotion hopefuls look clear favourites at this point for Belfodil, who is contracted at Inter until 2018.

The 22-year-old has been a fringe player for Inter boss Walter Mazzarri this season, having only made his permanent switch to the San Siro last summer.

He has made just one start in the Serie A – out of his eight appearances – something that is seriously hampering his chances of making Algeria's World Cup squad.

Redknapp has been eager to bring a striker over to Loftus Road this winter, saying previously: "[Belfodil’s] one that we've looked at, yeah. He's a player that we've been interested in."
