Galatasaray are hoping to wrap up a late deal for former Roma man Guillermo Burdisso after opening talks with Boca Juniors.

Burdisso spent the 2010/11 season on loan at Roma from Rosario in Argentina, before joining Boca in the summer of 2012.

However, he only managed two Serie A appearances for the Italians, and is now poised to continue his career on loan at Galatasaray.

The Turkish giants confirmed discussions today, saying in a statement: "Galatasaray have officially begun talks with Boca Juniors over the temporary transfer of Guillermo Enio Burdisso for the second half of the 2013/14 season."

Burdisso is also the brother of Nicolas Burdisso, and the duo had linked up as teammates at Roma before the latter was sold by Inter Milan to Genoa this month.

Guillermo Burdisso, meanwhile, did make his international debut for Argentina, but has been stuck on one cap so far.
