Liverpool talisman Luis Suarez admits that he is concerned about the prospect of being injured before the World Cup, having seen Radamel Falcao and Theo Walcott's hopes dashed.

Walcott suffered a serious injury with Arsenal in January, ending his hopes of heading to the World Cup with the England squad, while Falcao picked up a bad knee blow in the same month, making his chances of featuring in Brazil for Colombia very slim indeed.

And Suarez, who is enjoying a superb campaign with Liverpool, is fearful of suffering a similar fate and missing out on Uruguay duty.

"The truth is that I am frightened by what happened to Walcott and Falcao", he told Radio 890.

"The World Cup is a unique opportunity and we all want to be there.

"But I prefer to remain focused on the English league and live in the present.

"The time to think about the national team will arrive later."

Suarez has scored 39 goals in 71 international appearances for Uruguay and the South American nation will be hoping he heads to Brazil fully fit and without any injury niggles.
