Former Northampton Town and Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd has been handed a role by the English Football Association.
The 43-year-old, who parted company with League Two strugglers Northampton earlier this season, has been handed the post of national coach, the FA have confirmed.

Boothroyd will work with a number of the country's youth teams, although his focus will be on the Under-20s.
The tactician will report to England Under-21 coach Gareth Southgate and the FA's director of elite development Dan Ashworth.

Boothroyd said in an FA statement: "I'm excited by this opportunity. Youth development is where it all began for me and I have taken on aspects of that into my management – that love of coaching and developing players has kept going.
"At Watford, I helped bring through players like Ashley Young and Ben Foster early in their careers, and more recently, I had Saido Berahino when I was Northampton Town manager – I have always wanted to bring young players through."
