Brian McDermott feels Leeds United’s off-field hitches are affecting the club’s results following their 4-2 loss at the hands of Reading last night.

Massimo Cellino’s bid to take over the Peacocks hit a roadblock last week as the Italian will face a tax evasion court case in Sardinia later this month, which could affect his Football League approval.

And McDermott, who was sacked by Cellino's lawyer in January only to be reinstated by the club’s managing board few days later, called for stability at Elland Road.

The Leeds boss feels the ownership issues surrounding the club have been ongoing for quite some time, which is affecting his side’s performances.

"We would love to get some stability at the club so we can move forward", he was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"Uncertainty over the future ownership has been dragging on for such a long time that there is apprehension around the place and the main conversation is about the ownership.

"I know it is a results business but we have had no stability here for a long time.

"Obviously it would help if the manager knew who the owner was going to be."

Leeds, who have not won in five Championship games, are currently 13th in the league table with 44 points from 34 outings.
