Leeds United's new owner Massimo Cellino is plotting to move a player from his other club, Cagliari, to Elland Road, with the target in question striker Victor Ibarbo.

The Colombia international has a firm fan in Cellino, who feels the 23-year-old could be well suited to his task at Leeds – namely helping the club gain promotion from the Championship to the Premier League.

According to Italian daily Tuttosport, Ibarbo, a player previously linked with Napoli, is in Cellino's sights.

The 23-year-old has found the back of the net four times for Cagliari in Serie A this term, however ten of his 27 appearances have seen him introduced from the bench.

Ibarbo has a contract with the Italian outfit which is due to run until the summer of 2015.

Able to operate both up front and as a secondary striker, Ibarbo won a recall to the Colombia squad this season, his last appearance coming in a friendly in March against Tunisia.

Colombia have been placed in Group C at the World Cup this summer, alongside Greece, the Ivory Coast and Japan.
