Spanish champions Barcelona are on the trail of Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo, who is also the subject of interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.

The Argentine is able to operate as a left-back or centre-back, his versatility one of the features Barcelona are most impressed with.

The Blaugrana are planning to give their squad a facelift in the summer, even if they should succeed in defeating Atletico Madrid this weekend to retain La Liga.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Rojo is on the club's list of potential reinforcements with defence being an area which will be significantly strengthened following the departure of the long-serving Carles Puyol.
