Real Madrid have not ruled out making a move to sign Liverpool striker Luis Suarez this summer, according to Madrid-based daily Marca.

Suarez is currently shining at the World Cup in Brazil and scored a brace for Uruguay which helped knock England out of the competition.

He has been strongly linked with Barcelona, who are mooted to be keen to place him alongside Neymar and Lionel Messi in a deadly attacking trio next season.

However, the Catalans could face opposition from arch-rivals Real Madrid.

Indeed, Real Madrid are monitoring Suarez's performance at the World Cup before deciding whether to move for the Uruguayan and commit themselves to what would be a hugely expensive transfer operation.

Suarez's availability is unclear as despite Liverpool denying any intention of selling the striker, there has been speculation of a release clause in his contract.

That could be as high as €94m.
