Swansea City are moving to capture Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis.

The hitman is out of contract with Les Gones and looking to move on to pastures new, with the English Premier League an attractive destination for the 28-year-old.

According to France Football, Gomis has received a three-year contract offer from Swansea and is edging towards signing for the Welsh giants.

Indeed, Gomis could even complete a switch to the Liberty Stadium within the next few days.

Gomis started his career at Saint-Etienne, but shocked the club's fans when switching to arch-rivals Lyon in 2009.

Lyon froze Gomis out last summer as they sought to sell him, with his contract having just a year to run, but the striker could not agree a deal, amid interest from Newcastle United.

He was eventually restored to the first team and made 33 appearances in Ligue 1 for Les Gones, scoring 14 goals.
