Tottenham Hotspur are ready to challenge Inter Milan for the signature of Napoli midfielder Valon Behrami.
Behrami clocked up 33 appearances for Napoli last season and his performances have attracted interest from clubs across Europe.
Inter have closely monitored the 29-year-old’s progress at Napoli and are keen to add the midfielder to their squad for next season.
However, they will face stiff challenge from Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham, who are also likely to enter the race for Behrami this summer, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport.
New Spurs boss Pochettino is a fan of the Swiss midfielder and is keen to bring him to north London to bolster the side's engine room.

With both Inter and Spurs interested in Behrami, Napoli might ask for a hefty transfer fee for the 29-year-old this summer.
Behrami played for West Ham in England, where he made 62 appearances for the club, scoring five goals and providing three assists before leaving for Fiorentina in January 2011.
