Arturo Vidal is looking for a lucrative contract worth €10m per year to join Manchester United from Juventus.
Manchester United are keen on snapping up Vidal and he has been identified as a priority transfer target by the club's new boss Louis van Gaal, who tried and failed to sign the Chilean during his time as Bayern Munich coach.
Juventus are thought willing to sell Vidal for the right price, part of the reason Antonio Conte has resigned as coach, and Manchester United are preparing a bid for the midfielder which could be as high as €50m.
Now there have been discussions over contractual terms as the deal is further fleshed out, according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia.
Vidal is looking for a package worth €10m per season in wages to head to Old Trafford, while Manchester United's initial proposal is €7m per year, plus bonuses.

While there is a gap between the two parties, an agreement is likely to be found if Juventus do give the green light for Vidal to move to England.
The midfielder is currently on holiday following his efforts with Chile at the World Cup, though has insisted he will discuss his future with Juventus upon his return.
