Daley Blind's agent has wasted little time in rubbishing reports from the British media which have claimed his client is heading to Manchester United.

It had been reported that Manchester United had reached an agreement with Ajax for the Netherlands international defender, with a fee of around €25m mooted.

But Blind's agent has rubbished the transfer talk, telling Dutch broadcaster FOX Sports the reports are "utter nonsense".

Rob Jansen also insisted that "neither Ajax nor us have had any contact" with Manchester United over a switch for the 24-year-old.

Blind has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks, talk that is only set to intensify following left-back Luke Shaw having been ruled out for four weeks at Old Trafford through injury.

The defender, who is also able to operate in midfield, starred under current Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal at the World Cup, as the Netherlands finished third.

Ajax coach Frank de Boer has conceded that there is a price at which the Dutch champions would sell Blind, but maintains he does not believe the left-back will depart this summer.

"We all know that if there is a certain amount on the table we cannot refuse. Then we'll wish him all the best", De Boer said.

"But I have not heard anything about it, so I am assuming that he still stays for a year. I think it's best for him, but on the other hand, the temptation is there if such a big club comes."
