Sporting Lisbon are considering an offer for Islam Slimani from newly-promoted Premier League outfit Leicester City.

Slimani’s performances for Algeria in the World Cup caught the attention of a number of clubs across Europe, including Premier League outfits West Ham and Stoke City.

Leicester’s interest in the Algerian international has now come to the fore this week and it is believed that the Foxes have already made their move for the striker.

Sporting Lisbon are considering an €8m bid for Slimani from the Premier League new boys, according to Portuguese sports daily O Jogo.

The Foxes are prepared to fork out €6.5m initially, while the rest of the fee will be based on the Algerian’s performances at the King Power Stadium.
