Leeds United are working to wrap up the signing of Cagliari defender Dario Del Fabro, as they bid to continue strengthening their squad before the transfer window slams shut.

Cagliari only loaned out the 19-year-old right-sided defender to Pescara earlier this month, but Leeds are still aiming to take him to Elland Road.

Del Fabro is a product of Cagliari's youth system and well known to Leeds owner Massimo Cellino, who until earlier this year also owned the Serie A club.

The defender has already played once for Pescara this season, turning out in the Coppa Italia for the Serie B side earlier this month.

Pescara's view on parting with Del Fabro so early into his loan is unclear, but according to Sky Italia, Leeds are doing all they can to snap up the promising defender.
