Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed he will assess Daniel Sturridge tomorrow ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash against QPR.

Sturridge picked up a thigh injury in September's international break while on England duty and has not featured for Liverpool since in what has been a heavy blow for the Reds to bear.

It had been thought he would be fit to face QPR, but Rodgers is giving nothing away on that front and has merely confirmed he will be assessed on Saturday.

"We'll have a look tomorrow and see how Dan is", he told a press conference.

Rodgers is sure though that Sturridge is desperate to come back just as much as the team are keen to have him once again.

"Obviously he's been out a long time, since the last break.

"I must give credit to our medical team here. I looked around the medical room the other week and we had eight players injured, six of those were down to the international break.

"I've got an incredible sports science team here. He's an incredible talent and I'm sure he'll be looking forward to coming back."

Rodgers also waved away injury fears over Dejan Lovren, who picked up a niggle in the recent international break.

"He will hopefully be fine for the weekend", the Liverpool manager added.
