Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has delivered mixed injury news ahead of his side's clash against Stoke City on Tuesday night.

Van Gaal's men grabbed an impressive 3-0 win at home over Hull City this afternoon, with goals from Chris Smalling, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie proving too much for the Tigers.

The Dutchman hailed his side's performance as complete, however there was concern over Angel di Maria, who was forced off, and Rooney, who limped off late on.

On Di Maria, Van Gaal told the BBC: "He did not come off as a precaution – he is out of Tuesday's game against Stoke. It's too close.

"But we will have to wait and see how bad it is. We will know more tomorrow."

However, Van Gaal is upbeat about Rooney, who has already told his manager he will feature against the Potters.

"He said to me he is fine to play against Stoke", Van Gaal explained.
