Chris Smalling has revealed Louis van Gaal rates Manchester United's 3-0 win over Hull City today as their best of the season so far.

It was Smalling who put Manchester United in front in just the 16th minute at Old Trafford, while Wayne Rooney doubled his side's lead in the 42nd minute.

Robin van Persie grabbed a third just after the hour mark as the Red Devils ran riot in a dominant display.

For Smalling, the performance was top quality, thoughts he revealed Van Gaal also shares.

"The manager has said it was our best game of the season and I think it was. It was a complete performance", the defender was quoted as saying by the BBC.
