Tottenham Hotspur are not ready to lose their defender and Roma target Vlad Chiriches in the winter transfer window.
Roma have been trying to find a breakthrough in a deal to sign the Romanian international since last week, even meeting with Chiriches' agent, but have failed to find an opening thus far.
The club’s sporting director, Walter Sabatini, met the player’s agent earlier this week to discuss a potential strategy which would see Chiriches arrive at the Stadio Olimpico this month.
However, according to Corriere dello Sport, Tottenham are reluctant to lose the defender this month and will continue to thwart Roma’s attempts until the end of the window.
Though the player is not a regular in Mauricio Pochettino’s eleven at White Hart Lane, the club are not willing to lose a defender in the middle of the season with very little time to find a replacement.

However, Roma are expected to continue their quest for Chiriches and are hoping to tempt Spurs into parting with the former Steaua Bucharest man before the winter window slams shut.
