Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon has ruled out making a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi and said that the player is not a priority target for the club.

The Argentine attacker is not a regular in Laurent Blanc’s side and is believed to be keen on returning to his former club, with Liverpool also holding a long term interest in the player.

Though he is not a regular, it has emerged PSG are not willing to sell the player in the middle of the season because they don’t want to go through the hazards of signing a replacement for him during the last leg of the winter window.

However, the club are willing to part with the player in the summer for a transfer fee of around €15m and the Argentine is believed to be eyeing a move back to Italy.

The Napoli sporting director insisted that though they like the player, he is not a necessity at the moment and indicated that the club are not too keen on signing him.

“Though we love the player and his qualities, we are well stocked in the attacking department, both in terms of quantity and quality”, Bigon told Sky Italia.

“Lavezzi is not a necessity for us.”
