Louis van Gaal is pleased for Radamel Falcao after he scored his fourth goal of his Manchester United career yesterday against Leicester City and feels the Colombian needed that strike for his confidence.
Both Robin van Persie and Falcao were on the scoresheet in Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Leicester yesterday at Old Trafford.
The Colombian has struggled to live up to his reputation of being a great goalscorer at Old Trafford since joining the club in the summer and is playing to convince Van Gaal to make his loan move from Monaco permanent at the end of the season.
Though Van Gaal was happy to see both his strikers on the scoresheet, the Dutchman is more pleased for the Colombian as he feels he needed that goal to regain some of his lost confidence.
"I'm more happy that Falcao scored because I think Robin has scored enough goals already", Van Gaal explained to MUTV.

"Falcao needs that goal more than Robin.
“But, after all, it’s fantastic they scored – beautiful goals I think with very quick transition for the goal by Falcao, with Robin also having a big part in it, so I’m very happy.”
If Falcao continues to bang in the goals for the rest of the season, Van Gaal might be forced to make his loan switch to Manchester United permanent in the summer. Manchester United will need to pay around £48m to keep the Colombian at Old Trafford.
