Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that he expects two players to leave the club this summer.
German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is almost certain to leave the club after refusing to sign a new contract and demanding a summer exit, amid interest from Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United.
However, he is not the only player who is expected to leave Dortmund this summer as there is uncertainty surrounding Mats Hummels’ future at the club.
With Manchester United making him the club’s number one defensive target, there is speculation that the German defender might leave the club and he has himself said that he will consider his future at the end of the season.
Though the Dortmund CEO refused to take individual names, he did say that he expects no massive changes in the squad barring two players leaving the club.

In an interview with Reuters, Watzke said: "No, there will be no major overhaul.
"Last year one player left [Robert Lewandowski], this year it is probably two.
"Everything else is still open. So yes, there will be change but not a complete overhaul of the team.
“As for any of the other cases, I will not talk about names."
Though Watzke didn’t name names, with Gundogan almost certain to leave there is speculation that the second player might be club captain Hummels. Dortmund are already losing coach Jurgen Klopp, who is departing this summer following a disappointing Bundesliga campaign.
