Louis van Gaal has told Real Madrid that Manchester United are not selling David de Gea this summer.
De Gea has less than a year left on his contract at Old Trafford and has held off signing an extension as he angles for a return to Spain with Los Blancos.
But Real Madrid have failed to reach an agreement with Manchester United and despite Van Gaal having left De Gea out of his plans so far this season as he feels the custodian is not focused, he claims the Red Devils will not sell.
Van Gaal was quoted as saying by the Press Association: "I think when Manchester United wants a player he shall come, besides when a club is not selling.
"It is the same with us", the former Barcelona manager continued.

"We are not selling De Gea", he added.
Manchester United have brought in a goalkeeper this summer in the shape of Argentina international Sergio Romero, who arrived on a free transfer.
Real Madrid are likely to continue hoping for De Gea's arrival before the transfer window slams shut, however any late move for the custodian could leave Manchester United struggling to replace him before the start of next month.
